Comment:
I used word "magnificent" here as a derivative from "magnification" (увеличение, усиление)
Extension tube which I used (it is mounted between lens and camera on DSLR cameras) is in fact kind of natural magnifying glass, or magnifier.
But, in contrast to teleconverter - it doesn't have lens inside, so you can still enjoy original aperture of your lens (F2.8 in my case)
DOF is very shallow with extension tube, and you need much more accuracy while doing focus.
And of course focusing is manual only - camera autofocus gives up on such kind of macro shots!
And here is result of that work.
As you probably know, I love sedum growing in my garden.
It's incredibly beautiful flower- but you need to be patient to see its beauty!
And extension tubes with macro lens help here a lot.
Mind small white dots on the end of petals - some flowers look like a king's (queen's?) crown, and those white dots remind diamonds or pearls! LOL:

Thank you macropoulos for identification of this insect.
This is not a bee, this is hoverfly!
First iteration in ID process was that this is Eristalis tenax. But later specialist said that this is Eristalis arbustorum.
Hope this variant is correct! :-)

Campanula group * Группа из нескольких цветущих колокольчиков
Via Flickr:
Campanula group under tree, cloudy.
3 year ago there were only 3 or 4 of bellflowers at this place.,
Group has about 50-60 bellflower plants now, seeded by itself.
Very beautiful, when it is fully blooming.
Half of "bells" is already gone, only 3-4 flowers left on top of each plant.

From Wikipedia:
Digitalis is a genus of about 20 species of herbaceous perennials, shrubs, and biennials that was traditionally placed in the figwort family Scrophulariaceae. Due to new genetic research, it has now been placed in the much enlarged family Plantaginaceae. The genus is native to Europe, western and central Asia, and northwestern Africa. The members of this genus are known in English as foxgloves. The scientific name means "finger-like" and refers to the ease with which a flower of Digitalis purpurea can be fitted over a human fingertip. The flowers are produced on a tall spike, are tubular, and vary in colour with species, from purple to pink, white, and yellow. The best-known species is the Common Foxglove, Digitalis purpurea. It is a biennial, often grown as an ornamental plant due to its showy flowers, that range in colour from purples through to whites, with variable marks and spotting. The first year of growth produces only the long, basal leaves. In the second year, the erect leafy stem 0.5-2.5 m tall develops. The larvae of the Foxglove Pug feed on the flowers of Digitalis purpurea. Other Lepidoptera species feed on the leaves including Lesser Yellow Underwing.

This shot of sedum is taken today (October 23rd, 2008) in my garden.
I was surprised to see that it is stil flowering, despite it's already end of October!
Heleniums are gone, phloxes are gone as well - but sedum is blooming!
What a nice surprise for this Autumn day!
